Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your family-friendly lodge in Arusha. Spend the day settling into your accommodation and relaxing in the lush surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for an optional visit to a local cultural center or explore the town of Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at a mid-range family lodge, such as Karama Lodge or a similar option.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds. The day will be filled with family-friendly game drives where you can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and big cats, while children can participate in a fun wildlife spotting activity with a checklist. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your exploration in the afternoon. In the evening, you’ll check in to a mid-range lodge near the park, such as Maramboi Tented Camp, and enjoy dinner with views of the surrounding savannah.

Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch before entering the Serengeti for your first game drive. The endless plains offer the chance to see predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. By evening, you will arrive at your lodge and enjoy a relaxing dinner under the starry African sky. Your overnight stay will be at a mid-range lodge in central Serengeti, such as Serengeti Heritage Camp.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Start your day with an early morning game drive, the best time to catch predators in action and watch the park come alive. Afterward, enjoy breakfast either back at your lodge or picnic-style in the bush. You can opt for a full-day game drive or split your day between exploring the park and relaxing at your lodge. For children, guides can organize activities such as tracking animal footprints or identifying plants and insects. A picnic lunch will be served in the park, and by evening, you’ll return to your lodge for a delicious dinner. Your overnight stay will be at the same mid-range lodge as the previous night.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Back to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Descend into the world’s largest unbroken caldera, where you’ll have the chance to spot rhinos, hippos, lions, and flamingos among other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the crater floor before starting the return journey to Arusha with scenic stops along the way. In the evening, you will arrive back in Arusha, where you can either transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure or stay overnight at your hotel (accommodation for this night is optional and not included).
