8 DAYS FAMILY FOCUSED PRIVATE SAFARI
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha (Welcome & Relaxation)
Your family safari begins with arrival in Arusha, where you are met and transferred to a comfortable lodge surrounded by gardens, offering a calm environment to recover from travel; the rest of the day is intentionally unstructured so everyone can relax, enjoy the pool, and ease into the rhythm of Africa before the adventure begins.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park (First Safari Experience)
After breakfast, you drive to Tarangire National Park, a relatively short journey that is ideal for families. In the afternoon, you head out on your first game drive, where children are often thrilled by close encounters with elephants, giraffes, and zebras among the park’s iconic baobab trees, making this an exciting but not overwhelming introduction to safari life.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park (Flexible Exploration & Rest)
You spend a full day in Tarangire with a flexible schedule tailored to your family’s energy levels, choosing between morning and afternoon game drives or combining both with downtime at the lodge, allowing children to rest, swim, or simply enjoy the surroundings while still having plenty of opportunities to see wildlife in a quieter, less crowded park.
Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park (Diverse Landscapes & Culture)
The journey continues to Lake Manyara National Park, where the environment changes dramatically to lush forest and lakeshore, and during your game drive you may spot tree-climbing lions, playful monkeys, and colorful birdlife, while an optional visit to a nearby village offers a hands-on cultural experience that adds variety and educational value for the whole family.
Day 5: Journey to Serengeti (Adventure into the Wild)
Today you travel toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, either by a scenic drive with wildlife sightings along the way or by a short flight to reduce travel time, and as you enter the vast plains, the sense of scale and abundance of animals creates a true sense of adventure that captivates both adults and children alike.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Big Wildlife Day)
A full day in the Serengeti allows for immersive wildlife viewing, where your private guide tailors the experience to your family’s interests and pace, increasing the chances of seeing lions, cheetahs, and large herds, and if traveling at the right time of year, witnessing the awe-inspiring Great Migration becomes a highlight that leaves a lasting impression.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Highlands (Scenic Transition & Culture)
After a final morning in the Serengeti, you journey toward the highlands surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater, with the option to visit a Maasai village along the way, giving your family insight into local traditions, before arriving at your lodge on the crater rim where cooler air and breathtaking views provide a peaceful and scenic end to the day.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater (Final Safari & Departure)
On your last day, you descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable game drive in this unique natural haven, where wildlife is concentrated in a relatively small area, making it easier for families to spot animals such as lions, hippos, and even the rare black rhino, before returning to Arusha for your onward journey, concluding a well-balanced safari filled with discovery, comfort, and unforgettable shared moments.
