7 DAYS BIG FIVE ADVENTURE, SERENGETI AND NGORONGORO

Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park

The journey begins with a drive to Lake Manyara, a park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will spend the afternoon searching for the park's famous tree-climbing lions and large troops of baboons within the groundwater forest. Your first night is spent at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge, where your en-suite tent offers sweeping views of the soda lake and the flamingo flocks below.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you head to Tarangire, known for its iconic baobab trees and the highest concentration of elephants in East Africa. You will spend the day following the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts buffalo, giraffes, and various predators during the dry months. Your overnight stay is at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, where you can enjoy a sundowner on your private veranda overlooking the wildlife corridors.

Day 3: Journey to Central Serengeti

Leaving the acacia woodlands behind, you drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into the "endless plains" of the Serengeti. This is a day of transition and incredible landscapes, arriving in the Seronera Valley for an afternoon game drive in one of the world's premier leopard habitats. You will check into Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, permanent tented camps that offer luxury amenities deep within the wilderness.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti Exploration

This day is dedicated to a deep dive into the Serengeti's diverse ecosystems, from the open grasslands to the rocky kopjes. Your guide will focus on tracking the Big Five, including lions on the hunt and the elusive cheetahs of the southern plains. You will return to your Serengeti tented camp in the evening for a bush dinner, falling asleep to the distant calls of wildebeests and hyenas.

Day 5: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Highlands

After a final sunrise game drive to witness the morning activity of the big cats, you begin your journey back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you can stop at Olduvai Gorge to learn about human origins or visit a Maasai Boma to experience local traditions. You will spend the night at Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp located in the high-altitude forest on the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Floor

The highlight of the day is a 600-meter descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a natural enclosure for over 25,000 animals. This is your most likely opportunity to spot the endangered Black Rhino, alongside massive bull elephants and dense prides of lions. After a full day of viewing, you will ascend the crater walls and overnight at a lodge in the nearby Karatu region, such as Kitela Lodge, which offers a peaceful garden setting.

Day 7: Karatu to Arusha

On your final morning, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge or take a short walk through the local coffee plantations. You will then begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, passing through vibrant local markets and Maasai villages along the way. Your safari concludes in the afternoon with a transfer to the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your comprehensive Big Five adventure.
